Video Importer

Easily define all the video sources you like to post on your WordPress blog and let Video Importer take care of the rest. In addition to importing past videos when you create a new source, Video Importer will check your sources for any new videos once per hour.

Adding a new source isn’t just easy, it’s also flexible enough to meet your needs. Choose between YouTube or Vimeo, choosing the type of feed, and then entering the username or ID. You can also set the post type, add categories and tags, choose the author and more for each source you’re importing.

Works with:

  • User Uploads
  • Playlists (limited support)

  • User Uploads
  • Groups
  • Channels

How do I get a YouTube API key?

We have created an easy to follow tutorial on creating a YouTube API key.

How often are videos imported?

Videos are imported once per hour, but due to the way WordPress schedules events, the automatic import is only triggered when a page on your site gets loaded.

Why can’t I import tags from YouTube?

YouTube no longer publicly provides video tags.

Like another post here, mine stopped working in Jan 2017 as I think YouTube or WP changed something. I noticed no Videos being imported in my WP Posts. I can manually run it and it works, but not sure why it will not just auto-import. Bit of a pain, but I manually run it once a week or more. Not the best solution, but no other plugin seemed to be this easy to use. I wish the Author would update or someone could give me a better solution to use.

I tried and tested a couple of YouTube video import plugins and none of them actually worked and none of them did what I wanted it to do. Which is just importing YouTube videos as they get published into specified categories. Except for this plugin. This plugin did exactly what I wanted it to do and it works great! So well done to you!
